When you can buy it
xTool has split the launch into two windows. You pay a deposit now to hold your place, then you pay the rest later. The company hasn’t said what the rest will be.
These are xTool’s own dates, quoted off its page.
| What | When |
|---|---|
| Deposit period | 12 October at 12:00 AM to 28 October at 5:00 PM PDT |
| Final payment period | 28 October at 6:00 PM to 1 December at 12:00 AM PST |
| Shipping starts | 29 October |
The deposit is 100 dollars. xTool says you get a full refund of it if you decide not to buy, right up until you make the final payment. After that it becomes part of the purchase.
Paying it also gets you what xTool lists as a free Fire Safety Set 2 worth 169 dollars, 20 percent off selected xTool materials worth 49.99 dollars, a six month Atomm Max subscription worth 89.40 dollars, and 60 day price protection. Deposits are entered into a giveaway for a free X1, drawn on the launch livestream.
Launch prices: 3,399 and 3,999 dollars

From the launch price image on xTool’s X1 page, checked October 15, 2026.
One thing doesn’t match. The same page’s FAQ still says xTool will reveal all available configurations and prices when final payment opens on 28 October. So treat these as launch prices until then. We’ll check them again on the day and update this page with the date.
What xTool has confirmed is the shape of the range. There are two starting configurations. X1 Single CO2 comes with the 55W CO2 laser head only. X1 CO2 plus Diode Galvo comes with that head and the 20W Diode Galvo Module.
One machine, five laser sources
This is the part that makes the X1 unusual. Every X1 starts with the 55W CO2 head. xTool calls the swapping system Laser Swap, and it lets you add other sources to the same machine instead of buying another one.
There’s a catch, and it matters before you choose a configuration. The 20W Diode Galvo Module is required before you can add UV, MOPA or fiber. If you buy the CO2 only version you can add the diode module later, but you can’t skip it.
Here is what xTool says each source is for.
| Source | xTool says it is best for | Spot size |
|---|---|---|
| 55W CO2 | Cutting wood, acrylic, leather and paper | 0.175 x 0.175 mm |
| 20W Diode | Fast detail on wood, leather, dark acrylic and card. Marks painted or coated metal | 0.16 x 0.14 mm to 0.225 x 0.22 mm |
| 5W UV | The only source that does glass inner engraving. Low heat, so clean edges on heat sensitive material | 0.017 x 0.017 mm |
| 30W Fiber | Detailed metal engraving, embossing and colour engraving | 0.05 x 0.05 mm |
| 60W MOPA | Harder metal work than the fiber source, with finer detail | 0.04 x 0.04 mm |
The numbers xTool publishes
The work area is not one number, because it changes with the source and the job. xTool gives three.
| Spec | xTool’s figure |
|---|---|
| Laser type | 55W CO2. Optional 20W Diode, 5W UV, 60W MOPA, 30W Fiber |
| Surface engraving area | 615 x 320 mm |
| Glass inner engraving | 600 x 300 mm in the top 50 mm, 60 x 300 mm from 50 to 100 mm deep |
| Metal embossing | 415 x 225 mm, with the dust hood fitted |
| Max speed | CO2 600 mm/s. Diode, UV, MOPA and fiber 6,000 mm/s |
| Max cut | 18 mm basswood, 20 mm acrylic |
| Max work height | 150 mm on CO2, 140 mm on the galvo sources |
| Rotary diameter | Up to 110 mm |
| Cameras | 8 MP overview, 12 MP close up, plus a ranging camera |
| Focus | Autofocus, with a LiDAR ranging system |
| Motion accuracy | 0.015 mm. Ranging accuracy 0.5 mm |
| Size and weight | 1,000 x 580 x 420 mm. Main unit 60 kg |
| Power draw | 550W on CO2, 65W diode, 192W UV and fiber, 300W MOPA |
| Software | xTool Studio on Windows, macOS, iOS, iPad and Android |
| Files | SVG, DXF, JPG, JPEG, PNG, BMP, TIF |
Two of those are worth sitting with. The machine weighs 60 kg, so it’s a bench or a stand, not a desk. And the galvo sources run ten times faster than the CO2 head, which is the whole reason for having both in one box.
xTool X1 photos
These are xTool’s own images, from its X1 page and its launch press release. We haven’t used an X1, so none of them are our photos. Tap one to open it full size.

How it moves
xTool calls the motion system Hybrid Motion. In its own words it is a 4 axis flying galvo system that synchronises the gantry’s X and Y motion with dual galvo mirrors. The gantry carries the head across the bed while the mirrors steer the beam inside that area.
That’s how you get 6,000 mm/s across a bed this size. A normal galvo laser is fast but small. A normal gantry laser is big but slower. This one tries to be both.
Positioning is handled by what xTool calls the Automated Creation System. Three cameras find your material, and an AutoLift base sets the bed height for you.
Class 1, with two exceptions
The X1 is rated Class 1, which means the beam stays inside the box in normal use. xTool’s own footnote names two setups where that stops being true, and they are easy to miss.
| Setup | What xTool says |
|---|---|
| 5W UV source fitted | Class 3B radiation is accessible during optical alignment |
| With the Intelligent Conveyor Feeder | The X1 operates as a Class 4 laser device |
xTool says both of those are for trained professionals only. If you’re planning to buy the conveyor on day one, budget for eye protection and read the manual before you switch it on.
What we still do not know
A spec sheet isn’t a review, and this one has holes. These are the things xTool hasn’t said, and we’re not going to guess them.
| Open question | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Whether the launch prices hold after 28 October | xTool’s FAQ still says prices are revealed when final payment opens |
| The full list of configurations | Only X1 Single CO2 and X1 CO2 plus Diode Galvo are named so far |
| Accessory prices | The conveyor, work stand, rail and honeycomb panel are all separate |
| The CO2 cutting area | Only engraving, glass and embossing areas are published |
| Warranty and regional availability | Nothing stated beyond the US store |
| How it actually cuts and engraves | Nobody outside xTool has run one. Spec sheets flatter machines |
If you want the laser you can buy today instead, the Bambu Lab R1 is a 55W CO2 machine that is already shipping, and two outlets have reviewed it.
Common questions
How much does the xTool X1 cost?
xTool’s X1 page shows launch prices of 3,399 dollars for X1 Single CO2 and 3,999 dollars for X1 CO2 plus Diode Galvo (checked 15 October 2026). Its FAQ still says all configurations and prices are revealed when final payment opens on 28 October 2026 at 6:00 PM PDT. The deposit is 100 dollars and it is refundable until you pay the balance.
When does the xTool X1 ship?
xTool says shipping starts on 29 October 2026, and that launch stock is limited. It also says shipping priority goes by when an order is completed, counting both final payments and direct purchases.
Is the 20W diode module included?
It depends which version you buy. X1 Single CO2 has the 55W CO2 head only. X1 CO2 plus Diode Galvo has both. You need the diode module before you can add the 5W UV, 60W MOPA or 30W fiber source, so xTool recommends it if you plan to expand.
What can the xTool X1 cut?
xTool lists a maximum cut of 18 mm basswood and 20 mm acrylic on the 55W CO2 head. It lists wood, acrylic, fabric, leather and paper as cuttable, and wood, acrylic, metal, glass, leather, plastic, rubber, silicone and ceramic as engravable.
Is the xTool X1 safe to use at home?
It is rated Class 1 in its standard form, so the beam is enclosed. Two setups change that. With the 5W UV source fitted, xTool says Class 3B radiation is accessible during optical alignment. With the Intelligent Conveyor Feeder, it says the machine operates as a Class 4 device. Both are meant for trained users with proper eye protection.
Want the X1 verdict first? We will check the prices again on 28 October, then update this page once the machine has been run. The channel gets the video.
