The best 3D printer gift depends on one question. Do they already own a printer? If not, the big gift is a machine, and this year the interesting ones are multicolor printers, enclosed laser engravers and UV printers. If they do, the best gifts are the small tools that get used every day. Nick filmed every tool on his own bench, so those picks link to the moment he talks about them. Prices were read off the makers’ own stores on October 26, 2026. They change, and November is when they change most. Live prices are on the 3D printer deal board and the filament and gear deals page.

The big gifts: multicolor printers, lasers and UV printers
These are the gifts that change what someone can make. A multicolor 3D printer prints a whole model in four colours with no painting. A laser engraver burns names, photos and patterns into wood, leather and acrylic. A UV printer prints full colour artwork with raised texture onto wood, metal, acrylic, leather and glass, among the materials eufyMake lists.
Two of these machines are ones Nick has run and filmed. The lasers and the UV printer are not yet tested by Nick, and each card says so. Our laser engraver hub and UV printer hub list every machine in the directory.
Bambu Lab A1 Combo
The safest multicolor printer to give someone who has never printed before.
- Comes with the AMS lite, so it prints in four colours out of the box.
- 399 dollars as the Combo or 299 for the printer alone. Bambu Lab’s Black Friday sale lists the Combo at 359 from October 27 to December 1.
- Nick owns several A1 and A1 mini machines with thousands of print hours on them, watch the moment (5:18).
- Open frame, so PLA and PETG only. That covers nearly every gift print.

- Nick measured 76 g of waste on one dragon print against 230 g on the A1, watch the moment (26:25).

How to pick a 3D printer gift
Find out which printer they own. A scraper, a plate or a hotend only fits certain machines. Filament, dryers and hand tools fit almost everyone.
Don’t guess colours. A multicolor owner wants colours they don’t have yet. A colour bundle avoids doubles.
Don’t buy a laser without a plan for the smoke. A laser burns the material, so it makes smoke and fumes. Decide where it will sit and how that air gets outside before it arrives.
Check the safety story for a kid. An enclosed printer or laser keeps hands away from hot and moving parts. An open frame printer needs an adult nearby.
3D printer gifts under 25 dollars
Filament always gets used. Ask which printer they have first, and buy the filament size it takes.

3D printing stocking stuffers from Nick’s bench
These are the small tools that ended up on Nick’s own bench after four years of printing. He says he made some pretty dumb purchases along the way, so this list is only what stayed. They are sold on Amazon, where prices move during the day.

Nick’s top three tools for any printer owner
Asked to pick only three things from his whole bench, Nick named an air blower, an electric screwdriver and the clog tool. They cover setup and the quick maintenance that keeps a printer running.
Wolfbox MF200 cordless air blower
Blowing dust out of fans, rails and filters before any maintenance.
- Nick says it replaced canned air in his shop, and one charge lasts several cleaning sessions.
- Nick uses this, watch the moment (2:34).
- Wolfbox sponsored Nick’s tools video.
Fanttik E2 Ultra electric screwdriver
Anyone still building and servicing printers with a hand Allen key set.
- Nick says every maintenance step moves faster, so it actually gets done on schedule.
- Nick uses this, watch the moment (3:33).
Creality extruder unclogger
Clearing a clog without taking the tool head apart.
- Nick has one machine that clogs often, and this tool gets used on it all the time.
- Nick uses this, watch the moment (4:00).
Gifts under 50 dollars
Wet filament prints badly, and Nick calls moisture a problem that sneaks up on you. A dryer or a big spool is a gift a printer owner will use every week.
| Gift | Who it’s for | Store price | Nick | Buy |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| SUNLU FilaDryer S2 | A first dryer. One spool, up to 70 C, and it feeds the printer while it dries. | 44.99 dollars, down from 79.99 | Not tested by Nick. | FilaDryer S2 at SUNLU |
| SUNLU PLA+, 3 kg spool | Someone who prints big models. Check their printer holds a spool this size. | 35.99 dollars, down from 39.99 | Not tested by Nick on this spool. | PLA+ 3 kg at SUNLU |
| Creality Falcon frosted acrylic, 10 sheets | A laser owner who makes signs and night lights. | 29.99 dollars, down from 39.99 | Not tested by Nick. | Acrylic at Creality Falcon |
The best 3D printer for kids
Nick’s own answer is the printer his daughter uses. She got her first Bambu Lab A1 recently, and the two of them built it together. Setup on an A1 is about 25 minutes, then a QR code on the screen walks you to your first print.
For a smaller desk and budget the Bambu Lab A1 mini is the smaller and cheaper version. It’s 219 dollars on Bambu Lab’s store, and Bambu’s Black Friday sale lists it at 199. Nick owns several and still prints on his first one.
Both are open frame printers. The nozzle runs hot enough to burn and the bed moves while it prints. Bambu Lab doesn’t state an age range for either one, so treat it like any hot tool and keep an adult nearby.
If you want a machine built for children, look at AOSEED’s enclosed kids printer, the Joy. AOSEED’s own product page lists it for ages 4 to 12, it’s controlled from an app, and it sells for 227.99 dollars. The trade off is a 120 mm cube build area and PLA only. It’s not tested by Nick, and we have no store link for AOSEED.
Gifts under 100 dollars, and the dryer Nick uses
This is where a bigger dryer or a serious pile of filament fits. The SUNLU FilaDryer S4 sits just over the line. It’s the one dryer Nick names in his tools video, because he runs several printers and wants every spool dry at once.
| Gift | Who it’s for | Store price | Nick | Buy |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Elegoo H1 HT dryer box | More drying heat. One spool, up to 85 C, rotating holder. | 70 dollars | Not tested by Nick. | H1 HT at Elegoo |
| Creality Space Pi V2 Plus | Drying two spools at once, up to 75 C, with a 48 hour timer. | 89 dollars, down from 104.25 | Not tested by Nick. | Space Pi V2 Plus at Creality |
| Elegoo PLA, 10 kg | A heavy user. Ten 1 kg spools works out under 9 dollars a kilo. | 89.99 dollars, down from 140 | Not tested by Nick on this spool. | PLA 10 kg at Elegoo |
| Snapmaker PLA Full Spectrum bundle | A new multicolor owner who needs colours to print with. | 69.99 dollars for 4 kg, down from 89 | Not tested by Nick. | Full Spectrum at Snapmaker |
| Creality Falcon honeycomb workbench | A laser owner who cuts through material. 500 by 500 mm. | 99.99 dollars, down from 139 | Not tested by Nick. | Honeycomb at Creality Falcon |
| SUNLU FilaDryer S4 | Anyone running more than one printer. Four spools, up to 70 C. | 116.99 dollars, down from 139.99 | Nick uses this, watch the moment (4:57). | FilaDryer S4 at SUNLU |
Three bigger Amazon items from Nick’s own setup are worth knowing about too. The Levoit air purifier is the air purifier he kept for his office while printing PLA, watch the moment (10:40). The BIQU filament storage rack keeps dry spools off the floor, watch the moment (5:42). The EIBOS Polyphemus dryer keeps his queued spools ready, watch the moment (4:36).
